‘Di Lorenzo’ confirms he will stay at Napoli

Giovanni Di Lorenzo has played down speculation linking him with a move to Napoli. After deciding to remain at the club under Antonio Conte.

During a brief press conference, Di Lorenzo revealed his desire to continue his playing career at the Diego Maradona Stadium. “

After the season, I spoke with everyone: the president, the directors and the coach.” the Napoli captain said, as reported by สมัคร ufabet.

“I took my time to make the decision. I wanted to stay. And I did it with the utmost desire and enthusiasm.”

Di Lorenzo’s statement put an end to rumors linking him with a move to Juventus. It initially seemed as though he was determined to leave Napoli. But repeated conversations with new manager Antonio Conte have changed his mind about his intentions.

It seemed like everything was ready for the 30-year-old to end his five-year spell with Napoli during Italy’s failed Euro 2024 campaign.

Conte reportedly called the club captain Partenopei during the tournament to try and convince him to change his mind about leaving the club, but to no avail.

Conte’s persistence, however, has been well-remembered. The former Inter and Juventus manager never gave up on Di Lorenzo and his relentless efforts to keep hold of the right-back captain have paid off, allowing Napoli to focus on strengthening their squad elsewhere.
