Lucas Vazquez, the 33-year-old right-back, is the latest Real Madrid player to be injury and will miss the Champions League play-off against Man City.

Vazquez was withdraw in the 81st minute of Saturday’s 1-1 Madrid derby draw with Atletico Madrid, with Los Blancos revealing the 33-year-old will be out for around three weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in his left leg, ruling him out of both legs of the Champions League play-off against Manchester City. 

Real Madrid have already lost Eder Militao and Daniel Carvajal to serious injuries that will keep them out for long periods, while Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba are also out with injuries, with Vasquez the latest injury concern.

Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly considering using Federico Valverde at right-back during Vazquez’s recovery, or moving either Ferland Mendy or Fran Garcia from left-back to right-back.

If ‘Ancelotti’ decides to move 21-year-old defender Raul Asensio to play at right-back, the Italian coach will have to take a risk sending inexperienced young defender Jacobo Ramon to face the City team’s forwards.
